#2207

Only after I lost you did I see
everything we gained together.

I walk into rooms and hear conversations
to which we never reached,
laughter we will never share over inside jokes.

What a shame,
that we shall now only rest
within our peripheral vision—
wanting to see what comes next,
but too proud to carry the responsibility
of caring for one another.
