#1994

The globe seemed to be spinning as normal
before it proceeded to collapse before my eyes.
With the same rosebud lips that had
spoken of softness, you uttered a sentence
that sounded a lot like jagged torture:
‘There is nothing between us anymore.’

How does one turn off their heart like a switch?
Why did you fail to warn me before
the coming of an apocalypse that
would ruin what we created together?

The weight of everything you once held dear
has become too heavy for your grasp.
That, I understand. But you could have
warned me before you carelessly
threw my affection to the ground.
