#1939

I am my mother’s daughter.

My heart will sink and soar
the same speed at which hers does.
My voice shall tremble with
the same violence as I speak of loss.
My arms shall cradle her the
same way she cradled me before
I ever knew of fear or danger.

Her blood shall always flow
through my grateful veins.
