There are certain people with whom you start and end your day. Even if you don’t talk to them every single day, you interact with them on a regular basis. Because this interaction turns into a routine, you don’t really think about how important they are to you. They become the norm.
I point this out because the phrase ‘you never know a good thing until it’s gone’ holds true to all of us. The people around you help define who you are, and most of the time, you don’t even realize how much they mean to you.
Take a moment to appreciate these people. Your parents. Your brother. Your best friend. Your teacher. Without them, stability ceases to exist. You feel lost and empty. You become unsure of yourself and don’t know who you are. These people keep you anchored. Even if it’s one person who fits my description, that’s all you need. We all need someone to mean the world to us. Otherwise, what is there to fight for?
The people who matter won’t allow time to change their place in your life, nor your place in theirs.
